"A good fairy tale" But is it about good and evil, truth and lies? That's not what it's about.
The project "A good fairy tale", implemented in 2022-2023, represented an innovative combination of art, technology, and social inclusion. The main goal of the project was to create interactive audio fairy tales that engaged audiences of various ages and physical abilities.
Developed collaboratively by the "New Media Laboratory" team and Yuriy Didevich, the project involved the use of the GPT-2 neural network with a special dataset created by Yuriy Didevich specifically for this project. Targeted at children aged 5 to 9, their friends, and parents, the project aimed not only to entertain but also to inspire exploration and interaction with the magical world.
The main author of the fairy tale is the GPT-2 neural network, capable of generating coherent texts with logical narratives. This technological achievement opened up new possibilities in creating artistic works, allowing experimentation with formats and styles in an interactive theatrical space.
Using advanced natural language processing technologies and interactive interfaces, neural network models generated synthetic texts transformed into audio and visual micro-narratives. The hardware-computer complex "Neurotaphle" enabled viewers to interact with the content of the fairy tales through a tactile-kinesthetic interface in real-time.
Special attention was paid to an inclusive approach, adapting all project elements for the convenience of users with various limitations. This included special sound and visual effects that ensured accessibility and understanding of the fairy tale worlds through different sensory channels.
Each fairy tale not only entertained but also conveyed values of kindness, justice, and tolerance, promoting positive social dynamics among participants. The project also had an educational function, stimulating creative thinking and interest in literary and artistic traditions.
The results of the project implementation were positive: it received recognition and support among participants with disabilities, as well as among their families and the community at large. "A good fairy tale" became a vivid example of how technologies can successfully integrate into socio-cultural projects, contributing to the development of emotional and social intelligence among participants of different ages and physical abilities.
